How does anyone find dream seeds working for them here?
I often get normal dreams that I can relate back in some way to the day before, or sometimes a couple of days earlier's activities.
Last night though, I spent 2 hours or so watching a couple of pottery programs my other half was interested in mainly and I had a dream about being in a pottery class. I don't usually get them so obviously seeded.
I'm very susceptible to dream seeds, sometimes one Youtube video or one scene from a novel I've read is enough to spike a dream. But repetition really ramps it up a notch! I've been trying to use this to steer the direction of my dreams, but so far, I've found that this doesn't always work as intended. Some time ago, I wanted to visit the wreck of the Titanic in my dreams, so I watched documentaries about the Titanic and about deep diving. The result was a lucid where I sailed on a tiny ship with a bunch of pirates, as if my subconscious had said: Eh, it's a ship, it's the ocean, close enough. What I'm working on currently is trying to have certain items in my bedroom show up in my dreams to use as means to control the dream. This also only works halfway so far: I dream of these items, but only in non-lucid dreams.
Hi there! I know this is an older post, but, I found it while scrolling through the forums and thought it was a cool topic! I've been reflecting on my dreams and often find that my dreams seeds very.
While I would consider dream signs dream seeds (since they do effect your dreams), I feel like that is another topic in of itself. I could be an unknown twaddle-head to myself, but, I've been focusing on dream seeds more than what I did for light dream incubation and have found patterns. Your dream example fits the pattern that I found of watching/doing repetitive content/tasks at night, as, I find them more likely to appear in my dreams. I've been working on a cosplay recently and last night I finished the base portions of it resulting in my dream self talking about cosplay to another person. In your example, you had watched pottery videos later in the day (if my memory serves correct), so, your brain might have been processing the information right as you fell asleep.
As well as this, I have found that playing the same games throughout the day can effect your dreams, probably based on repetition. I play a fair amount of Pokemon Go and a mobile golf game on my phone, so, it's no surprise that they make the frequent appearance in them. In opposition to this, I have found the frequency of how often they have appeared in dreams to have gone down the more I pay attention to them. It could be my own brain running weird, but, be aware if what I described above relates, as, it could be a common thing.
In opposite fashion, I do find sometimes the weirdest small bits of memory can dream seed. For example, a family member the other day commented on someone riding this really long skateboard and I had a dream later that night where I was on a skateboard most of the dream.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, anything can be a dream sign, but, in personal experience, I find dream seeds more often reflect things that I hadn't been paying all that much attention to. I also have found that if I try and purposely dream seed myself (not dream signs), they often don't pop up into my dreams. For the cosplay example, I wasn't thinking about if it was going to be in my dream, but how I was going to sew a part of it. And the skateboard comment was made in the early morning, so, of course I wasn't thinking about my dreams that I wanted to have that night. Point is, there's really no proven way to determine what will impact your dreams 100%, but, there's ways that might be able to increase the probability of them seeding.
