I do not get notifications of live streams - how do I get notification in advance of it happening? Perhaps the notifications go to the Gmail account I use to watch YouTube? I don't generally read those emails. Can I have notification sent to another email account?
I would think there is a link in an email to go to a YouTube page? Is this correct?
Thank you and best regards.
Just to reiterate what others have already said... As a creator I have almost no control over YouTube's notifications (very frustrating!).
So I aim to stick to a strict schedule, so streams will happen the same time each week.
Keep an eye on the upload schedule linked in the other posts for any changes or cancellations - but those are rare. The only time of year where things get tricky is when daylight saving times change.
Hello there! I initially replied in your other thread, so I've reposted that reply here, just so you have everything in one place. I've also moved this thread to General Chat, as, technically, that's where this topic belongs. I'll also be deleting the other thread now, to avoid duplicates.
Hopefully mine and @StumpedSlicken 's replies together provide you with all the information you need, but please do feel free to ask if not! 😊
Hi there!
First of all, I apologise for the slow reply. YouTube is notoriously terrible with notifications, and I never get notifications of livestreams either until it's actually already live. I don't think you get alerts via e-mail (at least I never did) like you tend to do with Twitch in my experience. For me, the best bet is to have the YouTube app installed on my phone, and make sure to select "All notifications" by clicking on the bell beside the "Subscribe" button on the channel in question. If you already have set notifications to "All", you may want to switch them off and on again.
At least for me, this is the only way I can get notifications for streams these days. In other words, I depend on my phone, because the app is the only place I'm ever alerted. So my best advice is to install the app and set notifications to "All" on Lucid Dream Portal's channel, like I say, and also make sure you allow the YouTube app to send you push notifications on your phone.
Failing that, there's a useful schedule on this website, here: Upload Schedule | The Lucid Guide
This previous Sunday's stream had to be cancelled, but for the vast majority of the time, this schedule should help!
Hello!
I generally don't get alerted of livestreams until they are done (which is very annoying) however, Daniel has provided an upload schedule that does update in case of any cancelations. This link can be found under the "About" section on the YouTube channel. I have copied the link however: https://www.thelucidguide.com/upload-schedule
Hope this helps!
P.S. - I never get notified of any videos through my email (livestreams, shorts, or regular videos) even though I have the notification bell on. The best way to check would be through YouTube (if you are signed in). This is just my experience but it seems similar to yours.
