During some of my recorded dreams (especially LDs after becoming lucid) I discovered some unknown dark behaviours from my side (like stealing food, breaking things without reason, assaulting and abusing Dream Characters) which I normally won't do.
According to this video below, they are a collection of repressed personalities referred to as the Shadow in Jungian Psychology.
Personally, I feel that the Shadow in most of my LDs takes possession of me when I become lucid, I lose control then resort to those behaviours eventually leading to loss of control of self in that dream thus destroying the experience. There is a bit of concern that those behaviours don't eventually pop up in waking life. To counter that I am now trying to use Grounding Techniques mentioned in Daniels' book. Also, I thinking of doing Shadow work to understand more and reconcile with those personalities. Any other measures to counter this? Anyone else has experienced something similar?
