I have had 1 lucid dream in which I had full control, this was years ago and purely by luck. I've always been keen to learn more but never stuck with it...but now I'm determined and I've had a few successes but nothing crazy.
I wanted to write about my unplanned LD last night. I've tried WBTB before in the past with no success, the only time I was able to get lucid (for a short period of time with little to no control) , from waking up and going back to sleep, was when I came out of a dream and had no wakeful period, I just kept my eyes shut and then I felt sleep paralysis start, I was able to enter a lucid dream that way (I have the dream written down if any interest, I thought I'd keep this thread on topic). The other times I've tried WBTBs it didn't work out for me.
(LD starts here)
Ok so back to last night. I had a super duper blocked nose and woke up at 4am almost in pain in my nose, I couldn't sleep with it. I had to sit up and wait for it to die down, which took an hour. So after an hour of being awake, I finally went back to sleep and had 2 lucid dreams back to back (maybe the same dream?), which were uneventful but both times I realised I was dreaming but both times woke up instantly. The first one I realised I was dreaming after a week had passed but I didn't remember anything I did - surely I'm dreaming!! I was and everything faded to black. The second one, I had an iced coffee bottle that had an instant win jackpot prize if found the bell under the lid, which I did - surely a dream, this would never happen! Both were dreams and I woke up from I think pure excitement. It's a milestone for me, even if a small one. I guess what I need to work on now is keeping the dream alive once I get lucid...any tips!? Thanks for reading
Congratulations on having achieved lucidity again not only once, but twice! Well done!
All dream reports are very welcome on the forum, whether from a lucid or non-lucid! There's a thread dedicated to dream reports in the General Chat section of this forum, so definitely feel free to share the dream itself there!
You may also want to have a look at @Dave H-Elf 's question about dream stability in the Q&A section -- here's the link.
Like I say in that thread, I prefer to give pointers to Daniel Love's work if possible, as I feel his work is simply the most accurate and reliable information you will find on lucid dreaming. So I'll include the same pointers here as I did in that thread, just in case you haven't gotten around to watching those videos yet! 😃 The videos are listed from oldest to newest -- but I highly encourage you to watch them all.
