In Daniels video about social media, he talked about how social media affects our ability to lucid dream in a negative way:

Another YouTuber (TechLore) has challenge regarding this:
Social media detox day. On August the 2nd. (which is my birthday) I challenge all of you to not use any social media.

I almost forgot to ask, but how did social media detox day go for you all?
Mikka, that's awesome to hear!
Good luck tommorrow and the days after!
Yesterday, I restricted my use of social media a LOT, and after a dry spell of no or very little dream recall, I woke up this morning recalling four dreams. Could be a coincidence (and reading my dreamjournal and "Are You Dreaming?" before bed likely also helped), but I'm hopeful!
I wish you all the best of luck!!
I suggest we use the social media detox day as a starting point to reduce our use on social media.
I myself have already removed Instagram due to the terrible privacy and because it was time-consuming and rather useless. Also, I have removed Facebook a long time ago and only follow useful channels on YouTube.
I'm going to reduce listening to music (listening to music is healthy, but doing it all day obstructs the observational and mindfull mindset).
I'm very curious, what steps are you going to take on/after detox day? And what steps have you already taken?
About a month ago, I ditched Facebook and my dream recall has been through the roof. Granted, on the hotter days, it's not been great, but even then, due to ditching FB, I don't appear to have been impacted quite so negatively as others are claiming to have been.
I've no real desire to go back to it at this point and feel far happier. Good luck to you all!
Yes, I think a "digital detox day" is akin to fasting. And as we all wish to detox on a wider scale, remember once the day is over, don't binge, but return to a lower-level than prior to the day.
Good idea, this is exactly what I need right now! It'll be interesting to see if the people who take part experience lucid dreams the night after.
