So, we know that as of now, the concept of shared dreaming is TWADDLE. But do you guys think we'll get to the point where we'll eventually be able to have shared lucid dreams through technology? I can see it happening, but I think it's quite far off, maybe 100 years or so away.
We already have the technology to distinguish, to an extent, what an individual is seeing through brain activity. Whilst this is quite rudimentary at the moment as I understand it, such as being able to distinguish between two entirely different experiences, I think the advancement of this may prove key in creating the technology for shared lucid dreaming. With enough data, I think we may reliably be able to predict what an individual is experiencing within a dream with a high level of accuracy. Once we get to this stage, we may be able to "record" dreams... and then it's just a case of somehow inserting somebody else's neural activity into another person's dreams. I have no idea how, but I'm sure this will be possible eventually.
What are your thoughts?
